Applicants must score a minimum of 65 points to gain a visa under the General Skilled Migration program.

Age - You must be under 45 when you apply.

English language - You should have sufficient ability in the English language to work in Australia at a competent level.

Nominated occupation - When you apply, you MUST nominate a skilled occupation, which fits your skills and qualifications.

Skills assessment - Before you apply, you must have your skills assessed by the Australian assessing authority designated to assess your nominated occupation (which will usually have specific qualifications requirements).

Health assessment - You should be of reasonably good health and all applicants must have their health assessed by a panel doctor and undergo a medical examination.

Character assessment - You should be of good character and this too will be assessed.

If you are unable to meet the new visa Basic Requirements and pass the Points Test, then you should not continue with a General Skilled Migration to Australia application.

Every application is different. Processing times differ according to the subclass applied for and the occupation of the applicant.

A PR refusal can be because of various factors like: Fake representation of education or employment, Fraudulent claims of any kind or Health and character not meeting the requirements.

You have lived lawfully in Australia for at least 4 years and; you have lived in Australia for at least 12 months as a permanent resident.

Children born in Australia automatically acquire Australian citizenship if at least one parent is an Australian citizen or a permanent resident at the time of the child's birth.

The Visitor visa (subclass 600) lets you visit Australia for tourism or business visitor activities.Tourism includes holidays, recreation and seeing family or friends.
Business visitor activities may include attending a conference, negotiation or an exploratory business visit.
You cannot work for or provide services to a business or organisation in Australia or sell goods or services to the public. People intending informal study or training for less than 3 months, may also apply for a Visitor visa.

Longer Visitor visas are for parents of Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents.
Parents of Australian citizens and permanent residents are able to apply for Visitor visas to visit Australia for longer.The department will grant on a case-by-case basis:

• Visitor visas of up to five years validity which provide a stay of up to 12 months on each entry to those parents who are outside Australia and are in the Parent (subclass 103) visa queue.
• Visitor visas of up to three years validity with 12 months stay on each entry will be considered for parents who are outside Australia and are not in the Parent visa queue.

Please note that a condition will be placed on these visas that restricts the time you spend in Australia to 12 months in every 18 months.

Applicants must satisfy four essential criteria:

• They must  genuinely intend to stay temporarily in Australia;
• They must be seeking to visit Australia for purposes other than business or medical treatment;
• They must have access to or have adequate means to support themselves; and
• They must satisfy the relevant public interest criteria, including health and character.

Documentation can include : ongoing employment; • the presence of immediate family members; • property or other significant assets; and • the applicant’s economic situation.
Supplementary documents can include - The applicant’s immigration history including issues such as:• previous travel to Australia and compliance with visa conditions.

Visitor Visas can allow for single or multiple entry - and permit a three, six or twelve month stay in Australia on each occasion. Although the applicants are able to indicate their preferred number of entries the Case officer decides which time period is appropriate, taking into account an applicant’s personal circumstances.
